(Reminder: Posts in the “At A Glance” category are designed to help find information quickly … certain tools, techniques, concepts which may be imbedded elsewhere on the blog, along with year-end blog summaries.)

This At A Glance post is meant as a quick reference for using a technique I detailed more fully in a series of posts last year … “Talk With The Dead” … based around the research of scientist Julie Beischel, PhD.  For further context and elaboration, see the original post (Part 4E).

“Inviting Our Loved Ones to Join In” at a Glance

Inviting our spirit person to “join in” means having a departed loved one take part in an activity we’re undertaking and work through us to be part of the outcome.  It’s a very special form of two-way communication.

You see, the idea is they will inspire us to make certain moves or decisions throughout the activity, so that the result is actually a joint effort.

It seems to work particularly well when we’re doing something creative … art, music, writing, that sort of thing … but it can work in other activities too.

The Technique

Like some other techniques, this one is super easy … simply send out a thought request that invites your loved one to come join you.

Open your heart, focus on them, then tell them what you have in mind … where, when, what.  Just like you would if you were talking to them here.

And most important?  Trust that it’s possible.

Yeah, I get that’s the most challenging part, but the rest of it?  Super simple.

Whether to join is still their call …

However, be aware that whether or not your loved one accepts the invitation is their choice … just like it would be if they were physically still here.

It’s hard to wrap our heads around, but as I’ve said before, spirit people are, well … people.  Just, you know, without the physical body.  And as I understand it, like us, they still make their own decisions about what they do, wherever they are.

But what I also understand from many sources is that bonds of love endure.  And when the love is strong … well, I mean, wouldn’t you want to show up for your loved one?

(A great scientific-based source for the enduring nature of love across the veil is Love and the Afterlife, by Julie Beischel PhD.)

How do I know if they show up?

So, if it’s their choice, how do I know if they really show up?

Some people can sense it while it’s happening, but if not, the results usually give it away.  For example, I’ve heard several authors say of their own work, “I didn’t actually write that.  I don’t know where those words came from.”

I’ve heard the same from musicians, from artists (like my mother, as described in the original post), and from others too … like me!  (Check out “They GOLF in heaven??”)

Some of the examples just mentioned involved unsolicited participation by loved ones or spirit guides, but they demonstrate this is really a thing.  Our spirit people actually can join with us and influence an outcome!

Wow, who knew??

All this means, if we allow for the possibility, invite it to happen, and let our intuition guide our actions, well, the results can be stunning.

If you have a departed loved one you’re eager to reconnect with, I invite you to give it a try.  And be open to the magic ….
