To Heaven and Back: A Doctor’s Extraordinary Account of Her Death, Heaven, Angels, and Life Again: A True Story
Author: Mary C. Neal, M.D.
Published: 2011
My Comments:
This is the author’s account of her own death … she drowned in a kayaking accident.
Pardon me?? She writes about her own … what??
Yup! She writes about her own death. But even more bizarre is … she doesn’t stop there!
Nope, she continues the story with her journey to heaven … meeting angels … and being reborn.
And what makes this book extra fascinating is that Mary Neal is an American orthopaedic surgeon and this is a true story.
This isn’t a book that will stand out because of its writing style, but rather because of the credibility of the author as she describes her journey into death … and back.
As I began to read about “near-death experiences,” I was immediately drawn to those written by doctors and scientists … people who are born skeptics, not fooled by flights of fancy.
This is one such account … a fascinating story that includes the recounting of many “miracles.”
If you don’t possess a religious background, just a heads-up that Neal has a strong faith in “God” in a fairly traditional sense. So, if you find this a distraction, simply substitute your own terminology … Universe, Mother Nature, etc. Because it’s well worth the read.
